Privacy policy
Last updated: 8 October 2026
Your family’s information should stay private. This policy explains what we use, why we use it and the choices you have.
Who we are and what this covers
NAKUmoney is operated by NAKU MONEY LTD, company number 17500149, registered in England and Wales. Our registered office is 29 Burgos Grove, London, SE10 8LL, United Kingdom. Contact us at info@nakumoney.com. We are responsible for the personal information described here.
This policy covers nakumoney.com, messages sent to us and the current invitation-only app testing service. The app is coming soon to the public stores. Features and their privacy information will be reviewed before public release.
Visiting the website or contacting us
You can browse this website without an account. We have no advertising trackers, analytics scripts, newsletter signup or contact form on the landing page. We do not set marketing cookies. Cloudflare delivers and protects the site and processes technical request information, such as your IP address, browser information, requested page and security events. Necessary security technology may also be used by the hosting provider.
If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you include, such as your name, question or screenshot. We use it to answer you, handle privacy requests and investigate problems. Please leave passwords, payment details and unnecessary information about children out of your message.
Information in the testing app
A parent account uses an email address, account identifier, password hash and a record of the testing terms accepted. Child profiles use a username, nickname, age band, language, family link and avatar choices. Passwords are protected with password hashes. Session identifiers and security records help protect sign-in.
The service saves tasks and their completion, practice balances, savings goals, spending entries, simulated investments, Pay Day requests and confirmations, lesson answers and progress, rewards and Planet customisation. Dates, language, time zone and settings help show these records correctly. Activity descriptions and feedback contain the text you enter. Use nicknames and avoid including a child’s address, school or other identifying details.
The app stores some settings and cached activity on your device, including records waiting to sync. If optional reminders are enabled, it uses a device notification token, notification preferences and permission records. Reminders require separate parent permission and device permission. Accepting terms does not enable them. The current app does not request the camera, microphone, contacts or precise location.
Why we use this information
We use account and activity records to provide the family’s learning service, keep progress, show the parent dashboard and protect access. Parent account administration is necessary to provide the service agreed in the parent testing terms. We rely on legitimate interests in providing a safe, parent-supervised learning service for essential child activity and security records, and in protecting the website and answering support requests. These interests must be balanced against your family’s privacy and rights.
Optional app reminders use the parent’s separate permission. You can withdraw that permission in the parent settings and disable device notifications. This does not remove saved learning progress. We do not sell personal information or use the testing app for behavioural advertising. Progress and rewards are educational; we do not make automated decisions about a child’s eligibility, credit or other legal rights.
Keeping records and deletion
We use the following retention criteria: account and learning records remain while the testing account is used or kept available for restoration; support correspondence remains as needed to resolve the request and keep a necessary record of its handling; security and audit records remain as needed to investigate abuse, protect access or meet a legal requirement. We consider the purpose, sensitivity and whether identifiable information is still necessary when reviewing retention.
Deactivation is not permanent deletion. It blocks a child’s sign-in and reminders but keeps their profile, progress and balances so the account can be restored. Uninstalling the app does not erase server records. Encrypted backups of the current testing service have a rolling retention period of 30 days; backup copies and recovery records must also be considered when handling a deletion request.
Automatic permanent account deletion is not available in the current testing version. To request deletion or closure of a parent or child account, email info@nakumoney.com or follow our deletion guidance. We review your authority, the records involved and any justified retention before confirming what has been removed. We do not describe deactivation or a submitted request as completed erasure.
Your choices and rights
You can ask for access, correction, deletion, a portable copy or restriction of your information, subject to the rights and conditions that apply. You can withdraw permission for optional reminders. Send privacy requests to info@nakumoney.com. A parent or carer can help a child exercise their rights; we may need to check identity and family authority before sharing or changing records.
Your right to object: you can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Tell us which processing concerns you and why. We will consider the request under the applicable data protection rules.
You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) in the UK, or to the relevant authority where you live. Contacting us first may help resolve the issue, but you do not have to do so before contacting an authority.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when the service or its data use changes. The date at the top identifies this version. Material changes affecting app users will also need to be explained through the relevant app or testing communications.
